O Night of Champions aproxima-se e era preciso arranjar um adversário para Tommy Dreamer, na luta pelo ECW Championship. Christian e Vladimir Kozlov enfrentaram-se num combate com o lugar de Nº1 Contender em jogo. Christian acabou por levar a melhor e será o adversário de Tommy Dreamer no PPV. Quanto ao Campeão, nesta ECW ele esteve presente no talk-show de Abraham Washigton.
